Megan Wittman

I am currently a senior at Penn-Trafford High School.   I began gymnastics at the age of 3 when I went to summer camp at Kasamon Gymnastics.   Jutec taught me the basics and gymnastics and ballet.   I quickly moved to the team.   I have been competing since the age of 6.   I have been at Ultimate Gymnastics for 6 years.   This is my second home and I consider my coaches and other gymnasts as family. Now in my twelfth competitive season, I am a level 9.   Through my gymnastics career I have qualified and competed in States every year and last year qualified for Regionals as a level 9.

I have assisted coaching a Special Needs program for two years.   I’ve also coached pre-team gymnasts.   This will be my second year coaching Level 2.   As a young gymnast, I always looked up to the older girls knowing I wanted to be like them.   Now that I am a coach, it makes me very proud to pass along my knowledge and skills to the younger girls.   I truly enjoy watching them grow and learn new skills.

Through gymnastics I have gained so much.   Not only am I physically strong, I have learned to handle the challenges of a full honors schedule at school and practicing at the gym four to five days a week.   I have learned to compete independently and as a team.

I plan to attend Penn State University for Forensics upon graduation.
