Gymagic Gymnastics
Gymagic Gymnastics is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization with more than 40 years of experience and a reputation for excellence. Our mission is to create a positive impact on the Minot community as well as surrounding areas by providing a fun, interactive and safe environment that encourages movement, exploration, and body awareness. Our programs provide a solid background in strength, flexibility, and coordination; instilling a sense of self-esteem that leads to a lifetime of success.
Gymagic continues to strive to add new programs and provide more opportunities for boys and girls in the Minot community as well as surrounding areas. Our facility is much more than a gymnastics club, it is a community center that supports our young athletes and their parents, special needs community, and provides a fun and supportive environment for them to thrive in.
History of Gymagic Gymnastics
In the early 1990’s, there were two gymnastics facilities in Minot. One was Gym Dandy’s, which had been around since before 1980. The other gym was Minot Magic, which had started operating around 1990. Gymagic Gymnastics was formed in the late 1990’s after Gym Dandy’s and Minot Magic decided to combine. Gymagic continued offering the programs that had been serving the Minot and surrounding areas with gymnastics classes for children of all ages.
Those programs included recreational classes, USA competitive gymnastics, and Minot High School gymnastics. At that time, Steve Carver was the director and the competitive head coach. Our facility, which we rented from the ND State Fair, was located on the ND State Fairgrounds. Each summer we had to move out of our building for up to six weeks for the State Fair. This time off was detrimental to our programs and the growth of our athletes.
For many years, we dreamed of building our own facility in which we could continue our programs year-round. Through many meetings, deliberating, and sleepless nights a plan formed to buy land and begin building a permanent facility. Finally, in the summer of 2017, our dream became a reality, and we moved into the building at our current location at 18th Ave SE.
